Maeve Peoples
Horsewoman | Educator | Student of the Subtle
Maeve’s relationship with horses began at the age of five — not as a pursuit, but as a way of being. What started as a childhood connection grew into a lifelong devotion to understanding the horse at the deepest level: their language, their needs, their nature.
Influenced by the quiet wisdom of Tom Dorrance and Ray Hunt, Maeve’s approach is rooted in presence, softness, and the power of feel. Her greatest strength lies in her ability to truly listen — not just to the horse’s behavior, but to what lies beneath it. She reads the subtle shifts in energy, emotion, and intention, guiding horse and human back to clarity and connection.
With a deep understanding of herd dynamics and natural hierarchy, Maeve works with the horse’s innate social instincts to build leadership through trust, not dominance. Her timing, pressure, and balance are attuned to the individual — always honoring the moment, and never rushing the process. Whether supporting groundwork, liberty, or relational challenges, Maeve meets each horse and human where they are — expanding on what’s already present, and laying a foundation that lasts.
